To make it even better, I was able to find Hawaiian bread sliced one-inch thick in my local grocery store bakery. It’s perfect for this recipe. Don’t worry if you can’t find it though. French bread or regular white or wheat bread would work just as well. Whatever you use. just make sure it is at least a day old. If the bread is too fresh it will soak up too much of the egg mixture and become too soggy.

¼ cup pineapple juice (you can just use from the pineapple ring can)

½ tsp. vanilla extract
