I have always loved this recipe from the time I was a little girl.
I like to call it a “church lady” recipe because it seemed like someone would always bring this dessert to potluck suppers. It was something I looked forward to when I would scope out the dessert table. And guess what else? it is very easy to make. My mother showed me how to make it when I was around ten years old. Soon, I was the “church lady” who was bringing this lovely dessert to the potluck dinner.
My husband and kids really enjoy this dessert, too. I make it for them to have as an after dinner treat from time to time.
I like making it when we have guests over as well because it makes a lot and it is super easy to prepare. Who would have ever known that crackers and pretzels go so well with peanut butter and chocolate?!
This is a recipe that you take with you to a potluck, group gathering, or party. It makes a lot and is a great conversation starter. Seriously, it wouldn’t be Christmas without this yummy dessert. My family makes it every single year for the holidays. I guess you could say it is a bit of a family tradition. I was completely smitten with the sweet and savory tastes of this dessert, too!
