AMBROSIA/MARSHMALLOW FRUIT SALAD

Flip it!

I make this, but I use sliced grapes instead of cherries. I will have to try it!!!
I made this recipe for our Christmas celebration, you were right about the marshmallows being something that the kids love! My granddaughter remembered it and requested it for Easter, so now my daughter is preparing it for this holiday occasion! I suggested to her the idea of using the pastel mini marshmallows for Easter!

This looks super tasty! I love a good ambrosia salad! Something about the fruit and marshmallows is so nostalgic!

Years ago we were at a party put on by a good friend who bordered on OCD with party foods. The watermelon basket was gorgeous but the dip was divine!! A large container of Cool Whip, thawed, and 2-3 Tbsp. of spiced rum, mixed well. White rum is equally good. Adding toasted chopped pecans or slivered almonds add texture and extra flavor.

You need to put the fruit and all the juices over the mini marshmallows. Then put that in the refrigerator for 24 hours. The salad is called 24 hour salad. Take that out of the refrigerator and fold in the whipped cream. Return to the refrigerator for a chill. Serve.

I loved this recipe growing up but have struggled to find a great recipe since I lost ours. I stumbled upon this one and it is a keeper for sure! Will be making regularly at holiday parties.

This brings back great childhood memories! Liking this updated version with yougart
