Key Tips

-Only use pallets that have been heat treated, not chemically treated. All pallets must be stamped twice with information about how it was made. -Chemically-treated pallets will have the stamp “MB” for methyl bromide, the pesticide used in chemical treatments.
-A steel splitting wedge and iron mallet aren’t required to make this project, but they will make your life a lot easier!
-If you want a deeper planter, you can also remove the single plank from the backside in step 2 of the process.
-Help keep the soil in the planter by lining the bottom of the finished project with scraps of wire and landscaping fabric.
