WHAT A ELEGANT HOME-MADE THICK DUTY FLOOR CLEANER

One of the highlights of maintaining this year-long blog is the opportunity to venture into unfamiliar territories. Today, I tackled a task that I don’t usually prioritize: floor cleaning. While I do clean the floors occasionally, I must admit that I don’t do it as often as I should. Oh, the dread!

Fortunately, I’ve discovered a powerful floor cleaner for the lower levels of my home that effectively reduces dirt buildup. The kitchen floors are relatively manageable, thanks to the parquet flooring, which can be easily cleaned with a damp paper towel most of the time. However, when it comes to the bathrooms, it’s a different story. As someone residing in a male-dominated household, anyone with children can relate to the distinctive aroma that lingers in a boy’s bathroom. It feels as if the scent is permanently etched on the walls.

I’ve tried various methods, diligently scrubbing every surface and meticulously wiping the floors on my hands and knees. Yet, I still feel like a grumpy version of Oscar the Grouch, despite my efforts. However, I’ve come across a cleaning recipe specifically designed for tough tasks, similar to what you would find in a commercial kitchen. It’s a potent grease cutter that gets the job done. What’s even better is that one of the reviews mentioned that it smells fantastic. Why resort to expensive chemicals when they aren’t necessary? Believe me, my bathroom not only looks clean but also exudes a delightful fragrance.

Ingredients:

° 1/3 c vinegar white
° 1 tsp liquid soap dish (Blue Dawn is a miracle in a bottle – I wouldn’t use anything else!)
° 1/3 cup washing soda
° 2 gallons of tap water, very warm water

Directions:

Put all the ingredients in the bucket and stir well until foam is formed.

Rinsing is not required, but wiping with a towel afterwards gives a nice clean finish

It is not recommended for linoleum flooring because the wax will drip. If you are looking for a good way to clean hardwood floors, this is the solution. I tried different combinations of floor cleaners. I like the freshness of cleaning the floor with a little mist and a good mop.
