Carne Asada Breakfast Fries

This versatile dish with chunks of grilled carne asada is served with a spicy diced tomato-onion blend, shredded cheese guacamole, cilantro, shredded cheese, and a fried egg over a base of steak fries.

Love this meal!! I added white onion and green bell pepper for the final broil to add some more veggies into the mix. I also made homemade guacamole as a topping

Pretty yummy. I bought store made pico because I had already made ceviche and was being lazy, the fries are delicious homemade but I think store bought fries could suffice, just might not taste as good. ❤️

I loved the way the actual french fries turned out so crispy!! The whole dish was yummy!! Damn i wish i would’ve taken a pic but it was too yummy to wait Lol. I do recommend grilling the steak over charcoal way more flavorful.

If you are using potatoes make sure to flip them or else the bottom will burn! Would recommend keeping a close eye on the potatoes as they burn very easily

Ingredients:

2 russet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil

Crinkle cut fries are good for this. I used to eat these all the time in Arizona and they were always made with crinkle cut they’re really good like that!!😍

I did this, but I just cook the fries because its more easy if you want to eat with some meat lime steak. trick : If you dont have Russet Potatoes, use rounds potatoes.. :)))

I used zesty seasoned fries and pre baked them while working on the steak. This meal is easy to make and everyone loved it. Will make this again!

A little time consuming but well worth it. I did cheat on the fries and bought frozen bag of them. If in time crunch, use already prepared guacamole and pico de gallo. Daughter asked me where this has been all her life so I will definitely be making this more regularly.

This is a really great recipe. The carné asada was very juicy and if you find the carné asada tough you can shred it. I would add 1/2 tsp more paprika though. Also, I cooked the flank steak for 10 minutes on low-medium heat on accident.

Absolutely delicious. We decided to add a few things and man it was so good I forgot to take a picture before it was gone. Definitely go light on the cheese, for some reason I always add to much and my tummy pays for it later. Delicious dinner! Thanks tasty

Ingredients:

2 russet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon dried oregano
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, minced
½ cup fresh orange juice (120 mL)
¼ cup fresh lime juice (60 mL)
½ lb flank steak (225 g)
1 tablespoon canola oil
½ cup shredded Pepper Jack cheese (50 g)

FOR SERVING:

sour cream
guacamole
diced tomatoes
fresh cilantro leaves
cotija cheese, grated

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut the potatoes into wedges. In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika until each fry is fully coated.
Place the fries on the baking sheet and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and golden brown.
In a medium bowl, combine the salt, pepper, chili powder, oregano, garlic, cilantro, orange juice, and lime juice. Add the flank steak and marinate for 20 minutes.
Heat a cast-iron skillet with the canola oil over medium heat. Cook the steak for 3 minutes on both sides for medium-cooked steak. Remove the steak and let it rest for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes dice the steak.
In an ovenproof skillet, place the baked french fries, Pepper Jack cheese, and diced carne asada, then broil until the cheese is melted.
Before serving, top with sour cream, guacamole, diced tomatoes, cilantro, and grated cotija cheese.
Enjoy!
