I tried this recipe today and was a little skeptical since it was done in a crockpot and not the oven. So I tried it and about 3 hours later my crockpot was smelling horrible and the bread was burnt but i thought maybe its my crockpot and took the bread out. My husband and I both tried it and it was bad, it tasted similar to plastic. I am not sure if I did something wrong, as far as I can see I followed the recipe, maybe it was just my poor cooking skills. hmmm
This is an excellent base recipe. I have a 6.5 at crockpot. I adjusted the recipe to our taste. We doubled the recipe, added 1 tbs of cinnamon, 1 cups of walnuts, and 1 tbs of vanilla. It only took 3 hours cooking on high. I did spray the non-stick spray as well. The loaf came out absolutely prefect. I’m hoping you all will come up with a cinnamon quick bread similar to this 🙂
❤️ Love this recipe for Crock-Pot banana, chocolate chip bread! I am making this delicious recipe right now for the second time! I adjusted the recipe a bit. I cut the butter down in half, only use two mashed bananas (not 3) and added a little bit of water to the dough to mix the flour in well. I also added in about a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the mixture.
I then coated the bottom half of the Crock-Pot with cooking spray before pouring in the dough. I reduced the cooking time to 2-1/2 hours on the Low setting. The banana bread turned out golden brown on the bottom with moist cake-like bread and delicious bananas!
INGREDIENTS:
2Whole eggs

Using a large newer Crock-Pot I had great luck with this! No nuts no chocolate but I did add a little vanilla and cinnamon. Greased the crock pot real well and kept an eye on it while it cooked. As soon as it was done I flipped the pot over and it slid right out! Love it!
I made this today and and it turned out great ! It was done it just under 4 hours and turned out exactly like I expected/hoped. I too was dubious about trying this in a crock pot but I ‘mhappy I did; and will definitely make this again and try some variations in the future as well.
I ‘ve made this several times and it has turned out better each time as I learn my crockpot. I decreased the butter and sugar a bit and added vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. I didn’t have very good luck trying to balance a standard loaf pan on the lip of the crockpot. I sprayed the liner of my 6 quart crockpot, poured the dough right into the crockpot, and put a light kitchen towel across the top, under the lid. Mine was done after about 2 hours on low. Basically when it started to smell good.
