MAPLE-CINNAMON WAFFLE COOKIES

Makes about 18 cookies

You’ll Need:

–1/2 cup butter softened
–1/2 cup sugar
–1/8 teaspoon salt (Yoyomax12 mistakenly says say 1/4 teaspoon of salt in the video)
–1 teaspoon cinnamon
–1 large egg
–1 cup all-purpose flour
Glaze
–1/2 cup powdered sugar
–1/6 of a cup (more or less) of maple syrup, enough to create a runny glaze when mixed with the sugar; adjust as you need

Directions:

Preheat your waffle iron as per your model’s directions.
Cream together the butter and sugar.
Add the cinnamon and salt, and blend.
Add the egg and blend.
Add the flour 1/3 to 1/2 at a time and blend until combined.
Scoop out dough a tablespoon at a time and roll each tablespoon into a ball.
Place the dough balls on waffle maker and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden brown and firm.
Allow to cool on a wire rack. Meanwhile, mix the powdered sugar and maple syrup together, adding enough of the maple syrup to make a runny glaze.
Dip the tops of the cooled cookies into the glaze. Let the excess drip off, then allow cookies to sit on a plate or the cooling rack until the glaze dries.
Store cookies at room temperature in a covered container.
