Mamma Ang’s Cavatini

I LOVE this recipe. I have made it several times and it’s always a hit. I LOVE Mezetta’s brand of sauces. All natural ingredients and no sugar added.
Some are talking about printing the recipes. I always copy and paste to WORD as well as “pinch” it. This way it’s always in a plce I can find it. It’s kind of my back up to “pinching” it. I always put the title at the top with jap.com/recipe source. This way should something happen with the site or a recipe is removed I still have a source for it. Just a thought.

his really satisfies my craving for lasagne. It’s a lot simpler to make too.I changed a few things…used ground beef, added a little grated parmesan to the cottage cheese and mozzarella. I also added one egg to the cheese mixture. I had some sliced black olives that needed to be used so they were put in with the pasta/meat mixture.
I used colorful penne pasta, the kind that has tomato and spinach noodles.
A very tasty meal and easy to prepare.

I made this last night and it was VERY good! I used regular pasta, not whole wheat. I was surprised to find turkey pepperoni…..didn’t even know that they made it. Could only find 4oz. pkg. but it was plenty. Will definitely make this again!

Served this up a few days ago for a family get together. BIG HIT! I made it to your directions, did not change anything at all. It was served up with some crusty french bread and a few bottles of Chianti. Everyone was happy! Thanks for posting this excellent dish!

Just made this tonight, but had to adjust because I didn’t have my glasses on while shopping. I bought low fat cottage cheese “with pineapple.” I didn’t even want to attempt to make that work so I had to add extra mozzarella that, luckily, I had on hand. What a wonderful surprise! The recipe was great without the cottage cheese! I’m still going to try the original, but it went over really well without it. Kudos to you for a great recipe that can be easily adjusted!

This sounds so good except for the cottage cheese. Cottage cheese, sour cream, raw milk, ice cream, I even have trouble with yogurt. I can not eat. I guess I could leave out the cottage cheese or is there something you can substitute for the cottage cheese? This looks so good, I would like to try it.

This is very good, BUT Pizza Hut’s Cavatini, not so much. Hubby sez, “you can make this again”, so it’s still a winner. Maybe he missed the little wagon wheel pastas. lol We remembered cavatini as being saucier (and not so garlicky), and the cottage cheese and mozzarella creamier (so it will be blended next time) with a cheesier top.

we love this stuff, Pizza Hut would have done so much better to keep this on their menu & not changed their sauce recipe & gone to ‘natural’ meats…lol, come one, these kind of dishes are not supposed to be healthy!!! Love, love, love it!!! ♥
