Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe

Natasha, I have never tried a recipe of yours that I didn’t love. The last one was the zucchini lemon cake with the buttercream frosting. Oh my it was so good. But I am looking and this one and it has no onions, no green onions, no garlic. no crunchy water chestnuts. Do you think it would change the texture or flavor if I added any of the above?

I tried this out but used fresh prawns as it is difficult to get fresh shrimp in the UK It turned out so good I made it again the next day it is now one of my favorites

Husband and I just made this and loved it! We cut the recipe in half and it turned out perfectly. The sesame oil is a key ingredient and should not be skipped. It was quick, easy, and delicious.

Delicious! I used freshly made short grain rice and put it in the fridge for a couple of hours, I didn’t wash it either. I made sure to season all my ingredients, and i fried the veggies as well before mixing everything together. The sesame oil definitely makes it authentic, great recipe!!!

My husband and I really enjoyed this dish. I would recommend using 4 eggs instead of 2 and cooking them before adding. I also did not add the bean sprouts until step #3 so they would be a little crunchy and I added a little more soy sauce to taste. Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews by SALSIEPIE is a great side dish. Both recipes are keepers!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
3 cups water

I made this for the first time tonight and I am keeping this recipe. It was delicious!! I am an island girl and I love fried rice!

DELICIOUS! This tasted just like the shrimp fried rice that i used to eat as a teenager from my favorite chinese restaurant! I have moved from my home town since then and i simply cannot find any shrimp fried rice that tastes the same. Well, this is it! I cooked the rice a day ahead of time and omitted the eggs and it came out perfect!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
3 cups water
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup fresh bean sprouts
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cups cooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined without tail
1/4 cup chopped green onion
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil

Directions:

In a saucepan bring water to a boil. Add rice and stir. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Set aside and allow rice to cool.
Heat a large skillet or wok for 2 minutes. When the skillet or wok is hot, pour in vegetable oil, bean sprouts and onions. Mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
Mix in cooled rice and shrimp and cook for another 3 minutes. Stirring constantly.
Mix in green onions, eggs, salt, pepper, soy sauce and sesame oil. Cook for another 4 minutes, stirring continuously, until eggs are cooked and everything is blended evenly.
