Wool roll bread is a very soft brioche with an appearance similar to that of a ball of wool, hence the name. A soft and irresistible bread with a neutral flavor, to be made sweet, as in our preparation, or salty.
To prepare it you will need flour, liquid fresh cream, sugar, brewer’s yeast and egg. Once the dough has been prepared, it will be divided into 5 balls, which will be rolled out, carved, stuffed and rolled, before being placed next to each other in the mold. You will thus form your wool roll to be baked in the oven until golden brown.
Here are all the steps to make it perfectly, ready to be enjoyed for breakfast or a snack for the whole family.
Ingredients:
Flour 300 gr
Milk Cream 120 gr
Whipping Cream 100 ml
Warm Milk 80 ml
Sugar 30 gr
Fine Salt 5 gr
Dry Yeast 3 gr
Egg 1
Instructions:
Prepare the milk cream and keep it aside. Dissolve the dry yeast in hot milk 1 and let it rest for 10 minutes. Add the flour with the salt, sugar, egg, whipping cream, milk with yeast 2 and knead well until you get a soft dough 3.
Let it rise for 1 hour. After the necessary time, divide the dough into 5 parts 4 and make balls. Let them rise for 20 minutes 5. Roll out the balls into oval shapes with the help of the rolling pin 6.
Make small cuts on one half 7 and spread the milk cream on the other half 8. Roll the dough gently and seal the edges well 9.
Arrange the 5 rolls on the inner edge of a 20 cm diameter springform pan lined with parchment paper 10 and let rise for 1 hour. Brush the donut with milk 11 and bake in a preheated oven at 170 ° C for 25-30 minutes. Once ready, let it cool. Your Wool roll bread is ready to be served sprinkled with icing sugar 12.
Note
You can also fill the Wool roll bread with custard, jam or hazelnut cream. Alternatively, you can make the savory version by adding cheeses and meats and pieces or grilled vegetables.
