Perro de Presa Canario, also known as the Canary Mastiff are the rarest breed on this list. They were originally bred for rounding up livestock. These dogs require obedience training and socialization at a young age to prevent unruliness. However, even that isn’t enough sometimes.
These dogs are very suspicious of strangers, and on occasion, will attack other canines. Since this breed has a potential to be dangerous, even with the right socialization, training, and handling, it is not recommended as a family dog. However, if with intelligent and careful handling, they have been known to make wonderful family pets. Tread with caution!
