This one made us roll our eyes because it is such an obvious explanation. The hole on the beginning end of the ruler is so you can hang it up. Math teachers don’t need to find weird baskets to try and organize these measuring tools, all they need is a handy dandy nail in the wall so they can hang them all up!
If only math were as simple as hanging up the tools. But, beggars can’t be choosers and here we are shaking our heads that we didn’t realize what those holes were used for during our childhood.
