Put That Wasted Space Behind a Door To Good Use!

Flip it!

We live in a small house so we don’t have the luxury of wasted space and definitely have to get creative with storage options. We installed this Forward Facing Bookshelf in my kids’ room to put to use that awkward space behind the door and absolutely love it!

You can get the basic idea of how to make these shelves here. Feel free to visit my site if you need more detailed instructions.

We measured and cut aluminum tracking to fit in the space behind the door and screwed it in place.

After cutting the baseboard to size, notches were cut out to accommodate the screws.

Insert notched baseboard molding into aluminum track and drill small pilot holes into the top of the aluminum tracking for the nails.
