We’ve all come across countless kitchen hacks on Pinterest, and honestly, many of them don’t deliver on their promises. However, this one does! My oven vents were extremely dirty and grimy. I had tried scrubbing them and even putting them in the dishwasher, but nothing worked.
Just take a look at how nasty they were. We cook a lot, and the amount of grease trapped in these oven vents was unbelievable! It was not only dirty and greasy, but the metal rims were also affected. The before and after image speaks for itself. What an incredible difference! They look brand new again!
Next, once the water in the pot comes to a boil, add approximately 1 cup of baking soda. Stir the mixture for a few seconds, turn off the heat, and use the Kitchen Scissor Tongs to carefully place the oven vents into the mixture.
Leave them in for about a minute, and you’ll see all the grime disappearing before your eyes! It works so quickly that you can move on to other cleaning chores around the house or simply sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice glass of wine – the choice is yours. You’ll be amazed at how fast it cleans your oven vents.
Note: I recommend turning off the flame and letting the vents sit in the mixture, as the water tends to create a foamy film that may rise to the top. Be cautious to prevent boiling over.
Look at how remarkably clean they are now! Even the grease on the metal rims sparkles!
Once you witness the transformation of your oven vents, you can carefully carry the pot to the sink and safely discard the water. Use your tongs to remove the vents and rinse them with cool water for a minute.
Now, I have clean oven vents and can easily keep them that way without breaking a sweat!
I held one vent up to the light so you can see just how sparkling clean they are now!
This kitchen hack also saves you money since you won’t have to replace your oven vents!
Now that my vents are perfectly clean, it’s time to tackle the rest of the oven vent – sigh!
