Loaded Canadian Twist Pizza

Yield: 1 medium pizza
Prep Time: 10 minutes (excluding dough preparation)
Cooking Time: 12 minutes for pizza (add 30 mins – 1hr for caramelized onions)


  • 1/2 batch of pizza dough crust
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce (or bolognese sauce)
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup thinly sliced pepperoni
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 10 mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup smoked turkey (or beef), cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions (substitute raw onions if preferred)


  1. Preheat your oven to 500 degrees. If using a pizza stone, preheat it for an additional 15 minutes.
  2. If you have a pizza peel, use it; otherwise, prepare a sheet of parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on the parchment paper or peel, creating a round shape with a crust edge. Pierce the crust with a fork to prevent air bubbles.
  4. Assemble the pizza: spread tomato sauce, sprinkle 3/4 of the mozzarella, then add caramelized onions, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, and smoked turkey.
  5. Ensure each slice will have a bit of every topping. Finish by sprinkling the remaining mozzarella.
  6. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven/pizza stone. Bake for 12 minutes or until desired crispness.
  7. Allow the pizza to cool for 5 minutes, then slice and enjoy!
