A super easy recipe to remember, greek traditional “Halvas”, with only a few ingredients you will always have in mind, just by counting from one to four… Oh, and don’t you think you will get confused… Remember: one cup stands for the most expensive ingredient and gradually goes to the cheapest….

Halva is a semolina pudding that is sweetened with syrup and studded with nuts and raisins. It is a dessert that has Arabic origins but has been adopted into the Greek culture and is widely served during fasting periods because there are no eggs or dairy in the recipe.

Semolina, in the form of flour, is commonly used in making breads and pasta; it is a healthier choice than wheat flour. Here, we use semolina grains to make a light dessert with a lemony flavour. You may want to serve it along with tea or coffee, or as dessert at your dinner party. Either way, it is refreshing and sure to please everyone! Enjoy
