Scary finger cookies are easy to make, especially if you start with refrigerated cookie dough. Roll it thin, and add a slivered almond for the finger nail. Dust a little bit of cocoa on top.
These are “grown-up” tasting cookies with a kid appearance….I sweetened them up with more sugar and frosting to both the fingernail and the bottom to make it red and bloody-looking. Sweet is the key with these cookies; if you follow the recipe, they are not that sweet. I loved them; so did my students.
These were fun and pretty good. We have someone allergic to nuts so we used hot tamales instead of almonds. It was cute and a big hit, esp with the kiddos

Sugar cookie dough
Almond slivers
Cocoa
Directions
Roll out sugar cookie dough into a thin line, dough will spread when baking. Cut into finger lengths. Score with a knife at knuckles and apply an almond shard at the tip.
Bake as directed on package.
Brush cooled cookies with a little cocoa-powder to add contrast.
